Mime Type คือมาตรฐานการสื่อสารของไฟล์เอกสารต่างๆ เพื่อระบุให้เบราว์เซอร์รู้ว่าไฟล์ที่กำลังติดต่อกับ server นั้นคือไฟล์รูปแบบใด เช่น ไฟล์ข้อความ รูปภาพ วิดิโอ ฯลฯ เป็นต้น โดยสามารถตรวจสอบลักษณะของไฟล์ต่างๆ ได้ตามรายละเอียดต่อไปนี้
